DEMON PERCH EYE
A gold-plated spoon back and a gold hook combine to form one fine perch catching jig. Make no mistake, this is a big perch lure that was originally designed for open water fishing Lake Michigan perch. But because of its color, size and action the Demon Perch Eye 6 will produce jumbos anywhere all year long.
Ice Fishing
The Perch Eye is an awesome choice for Lake Michigan or any of the Great Lakes. Because of the increase in water quality and clarity due to the infestation of zebra mussels, the gold spoon on the Perch Eye attracts perch by the bucket full. Perch Eyes are best tipped with minnows, minnow heads, strips of perch belly meat (where legal) or lots of maggots.
A lift/fall motion will attract the most perch and fish will usually hit in the drop, but you’ll feel them to suddenly be on as you lift. Perch Eyes will work down deep to depths of 30 feet or more provided light line is used. Don’t overlook Perch Eyes for walleye either, since they have a the same size spoon body as a Demon 4, but with a slightly smaller hook. Perch Eyes will work better with smaller minnows for walleye on highly pressured lakes.
Open Water
Whether they are flipped or cast shallow or jigged deeper, Perch Eyes will catch lots of perch no matter what the condition. If you’re a meat fisherman, a Perch Eye should be on the end of your line. Lake Michigan shore fishermen use Perch Eyes on power lines or cast out on a short dropper line with a 1/2 -1 ounce walking sinker. Perch Eyes should be baited up with several spikes, worms or soft-shell crayfish cast out and retrieved with a constant twitching stop-and-go motion. Perch Eyes are not just limited to perch, since walleye, crappie and white bass find them irresistible!
